In the SouthWest we know that the First Thanksgiving was held April 30, 1598 on the banks of the Rio Grande, a few miles downstream from today's El Paso, TX (though Floridians will remind us that Spaniards and Indians shared salt pork and sea biscuits near what is now St. Augustine, in September, 1565).
