It looks as though Arthur Dobbs, Irish M.P. and North Carolina
governor, might be a candidate for inclusion in the next edition of
Gary Roberts' _Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants_. Desmond Clarke,
_Arthur Dobbs, Esquire, 1689-1765: Surveyor-General of Ireland,
Prospector and Governor of North Carolina_ (UNC, 1957), p. 9, notes
that Dobbs had a line of descent from the family of "Buckly (sic) of
Beaumaris." This would probably result in a royal line somewhere.

Arthur Dobbs had no descendants in North Carolina, but his nephew,
Richard Spaight, also came over and left descendants. (At least, I
know there was a governor of NC called "Richard Dobbs Spaight," who
left descendants surnamed Donnell).
