The LONGDEN family were disclaimers in Hawkwsbury, Gloucester. Is it
possible to find what the coat of arms were originally for this family ?

I've just checked the 1623 Glos Visitation and can see no sign of their
disclaimer on the list of such on pp. 197-9.

In the preface to this edition of, in fact, a collection of not
totally faithful copies of visitation documents, there is a list of
manuscripts containing arms or pedigrees (which might have blazons):

Manuscript Ref Place of deposit
============== ================

Harl 2121, f.21 British Library (BL)
Harl 1191 6174 & 6185 BL
Philipot 16 L, 37 L, 14 P, 15 P College of Arms (CoA)
Harl 2230, f. 92 BL
Harl 615, f. 173 BL
Harl 1041, f. 18 BL
553, f. 184 Caius Coll, Camb.
6139 BL
1042, f. 79 BL
xcviij Queen's Coll, Oxford
Add MS 9458 BL

In fact the book has "British Museum" where I have written British
Library but the Harleian Collection has been transferred to the new
British Library.

Additionally the list includes "Arms borne by the Nobility and Gentry
of the County of Gloucester" published (city of) Gloucester in 1786.

The newsgroup rec.heraldry may be more helpful on this, of course.
