I had just been looking through Bosworth and Tollier's Dictionary of
Anglo-Saxon Online. I will contact Mary Sevalli, who published a book on
Anglo-Saxon Naming Elements in 1999, and get her in put. I found another
word for Council, and Advise. Mal and the second naming element is ðreð
dhredh means fearful, dreaded, fierce. So it is possible that Maldred's
mother may have been Northumbrian. I will keep searching to verify this
though. Anyone want to advise me as to where I can search for this.
