Anne Boleyn

The publication earlier this year of the biography of Anne Boleyn by the author, Joanna Denny, has resulted in a remarkable response from her readers. One, a retired RAF Wing Commander, wrote to The Times on September 18th, expressing his desire "to see justice done to Anne Boleyn in my lifetime", explaining that he is now aged 84.

Admittedly, the travesty of justice that resulted in her execution on trumped up charges was nearly 500 years ago, but the lies and distortions published by her enemies and detractors ever since 1536 has obscured the truth about the real character of this grieviously wronged, admirable woman - a woman whose talents and actions were the sort of which this sorry old world stands sadly in need.

A group of responsible people, who agree with the Wing Commander's sentiments, plan to follow up his suggestion and try to obtain justice for Anne Boleyn. It has been suggested that a web-site be created, devoted to this cause. What is needed now is for a person who is competent in the field of web-site design and administration to liaise with us on the project and provide whatever technical assistance and guidance they can, in furtherence of this plan. Insofar as the content is concerned, work is currently in progress on drafting this.

Should any contributor/lister on the GEN-MEDIEVAL list be interested, could they please reply direct to me?

Regards

Frank
