Rudt-Collenberg on Chart XII (The House of Comnenos) in "The Rupenides,
Hethumides and Lusignans: The Structure of the Armeno-Cilician
Dynasties" shows the wife of Alexios Komnenos/Comenos, Regent of
Byzantium (1136-1182/3) as "Giovanna/Maria d. of Guillaume VI of Montferrat"

Mirosalv Marek names her simply as "Maria Dukaina" (see
http://genealogy.euweb.cz/byzant/byzant1.html)

Leo van de Pas also names her as "Maria Dukaina", citing, Europäische
Stammtafeln, J.A. Stargardt Verlag Marburg., Detlev Schwennicke, Editor,
Reference: II 177 (see
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.ph ... 0&tree=LEO)

Does anyone have any other information as to the identity and parents of
this woman?

If she was the dau. of "Guillaume VI of Montferrat", can someone help me
identify which Guillaume de Montferrat (Guglielmo di Monferrato) this is?

Thanks,
Greg

Her family is not known for certain - she was described as "a bud of the
Doukai", and that is all we have to go on.
