Argentine-Uruguayan Ancestry of Astors and Wards

Legg inn av History Writer » 26 sep 2004 19:00:52

I did not originally cross post this to soc.genealogy.medieval since
there seems to be great objections to doing so in this group. Since
many Argentine genealogists read this group and since Leo does not
have the full details of the Carcanos on genealogics, I am posting
here as well, despite it being, for now, obviously OT (off topic) for
now. But presumably some South American or Italian genealogists might
know how the Carcano or other families listed here can be traced to
the middle ages, so maybe it will not be so OT. Best Regards.

I just obtained a copy of "Libro d'Oro della Nobilita Italiana, Vol.

ancestry for Ana Inez Carcano (Lady Astor) and Stella Carcano
(Viscountess Ednam), daughters of the former Argentine Ambassador to
the UK, Don Miguel Angel Carcano. The Carcano family is of Milanese
noble origin. Additional details are from later editions of the
"Libro d'Oro" as well as "Debrett's" for 2003 and "The Complete
