According to Cod. 722, Classe VII, Marciana Library (and Pivoto
confirms), at S. Tomà lived the patrician family of Dalla Frescada,
from Istria. They died out with a certain Nicolò, who in 1342 was one
of the elector of doge Andrea Dandolo, and died after 1379.
According to Barbaro ("Alberi Genealogici", Cicogna version) this
family possessed a palace in the parish of S. Pantaleone, which in the
late 14th century was inherited by a branch of the Corner family.
The family also had other properties. According to Curti ("Cronaca
reve di Famiglie Nobili", Cl. VII, Codici 202-203, Marciana), a
certain Marco Dalla Frescada, who died without children, left his
properties next to the church of S. Tommaso Ap. to the Procurator of
S. Marco de Ultra (as "commissarii") to build a hospital for the poor.
According to a chronicle cited by Gallicciolli, the will of Marco
Dalla Frescada was dated in the year 1320, as it was also established
at the entrance of the hospice at S. Vito.
