It is a fairly common belief that Henry of Brabant,
1st Landgrave of Hesse, however did not remain
childless, but that all the even agnatic,
yet-surviving House of Hesse, descends from him.

Of course, it is altogether possible that the House of
Hesse came from someone else, like from thin air, and
Henry I of Hesse indeed were childless, as suggested
above....
