I am trying to locate a more accurate account of the Spencer Family.
From the reviews of his book, it would appear that the fact are quite
often in error. Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

I read this book a few years ago, and it has gathered dust on the
shelf in my study since then. It certainly didn't seem riddled with
errors to me, but then it is intended more for 'light reading' about
the family than a scholarly production. It has some good genealogical
trees, and IIRC doesn't take the 'Despencer' ascent too seriously.

Other than the usual Peerage entries, I haven't encountered a better
work on the family - which is not to say that one couldn't be (or
hasn't been) produced.

Regards, Michael
