Ancestry of the children of Rigshofmester Erik Ottesen, lord

Of the numerous children of High Steward Erik Ottesen
[rosenkrantz], particularly Elsebe Eriksdatter made a
contribution through her progeny: she was one of rare
indigeneous northern Danish who married into the very
endogamous and inbred Slewick-Holsatian nobility of
late Middle Ages, and through her issue, gave her
ancestry to much of later Sleswick-Holsatian (south
Jute) local elite. From whom, for example, several
later princely and even royal families descend.

This ancestry shows that in 1300s, real records in
Denmark, even of families of prominent landowners, are
yet very fragmentary, and the more or less indigeneous
squirearchy noble families are coming out from mists
of history towards better-recorded era of 1400s.

Because a lot of people descend from one or more of
the children of Erik Ottesen and his wife Sofie
Henriksdatter, I collected the Ahnentafel, chiefly
from genealogies presented in various yearbooks of the
series Danmarks Adels Aarbog.
(anachronistic surnames, those which came into use
only in later centuries to those agnatic houses, are
omitted as much as they are suspect of being
anachronistic.)

63 Ingeborg Saxesdatter af Skullerupsholm (fl as widow

These ancestors all resided in late medieval Denmark.
A portion of them in Skaane and other parts of Eastern
Denmark, a portion in Sjaelland or some other Danish
islands, and, seemingly, the biggest portion in
(Northern) Jutland [= Jylland peninsula].

Those who are interested in larger genealogical
picture (= where this is connected), or are eager with
more dates, could look at same genealogy as it is
presented in Genealogics:
