Well, while I agree that no such line is actually up to the level of
proof that say Arnulf of Metz or Alfred the Great is, still,
in toto the evidence is that there is a good probability that SOME
valid line exists, and we know of it. The Charibert-Bertrada m
Aethelbeorht King of Kent connection is the likely best hope.
There are numerous lines from Aethelbeorht to the present that
are not jokes. None are reliably proven, but many are so plausible that
"probabilities" are such that at least one is essentially valid.

Dear Doug,
I do not know about you, but when it becomes guessing I'd rather do without.
You say _likely the best hope_ and _at least one is essentially valid_, but
which one? We all "know" we descend from Adam, but how? As we never are
going to find out, I'd rather not speculate. I think if any provable line to
the Merovingians existed, it would have been revealed a long time ago.

I don't think that creating a Society (AND charging money) based on wishful
thinking is the thing to do. Why don't they join the boy scouts and girl
guides? At least that would be realistic and not open them for ridicule.
With best wishes
