Fw: "Order of the Merovingian Dynasty"

Dear Leo

It's hard to imagine anything more deeply pathetic than these grown people
playing at dress-ups, much less on such a stupid pretext - and a sexist
game at that, since the women don't get to don medals and sashes like the
men.

Not quite as pitiful as the gaggle of lonely goons who banter with each
other so witlessly about "Terrible British Food" or "Windsor vs. Wales",
just in order to make some human contact online.

To this I would like to add that I am amazed that anyone regarding himself

half a genealogist would endorse and even advertise this group. By now the
credibility, or better the lack of, for Roderick Stuart and his work has
been aired enough. But then when they use your work to re-establish the
Aston line, you are caught. But, in my opinion, even that should not be a
reason to take this new society half serious.

I agree with Leo's first sentence, above. Any historian looking at
this link http://www.merovingiandynasty.com/C_M.htm would be horrified
at the quality of research. I challenge Mr. Beard or anyone else to
demonstrate that Merovech "defeated Attila 'the Hun' (in) 451," as is
stated on the site. Merovech is nothing but a name in Gregory's
History, and the subject of a few dubious fables.
