Estimated scholars,

may I ask you to have a look at

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.
com/~heicke/Hoppegarten/Marshall/Marishall.jpg

which is quite big 2.4 Mb and might take a few seconds to load

It misses the bottom part where the pedigree dated Edimburg 10.Nov.
1736 was testified and sealed by
Georgius Comes Cromertiae
David Comes de Buchan
Jacobus Dominus de Balmerina
Carolus Comes Lauderdaliae
Joannes Comes Kintare Eques Marischallus Scotiae
Franciscus Comes Moraviae

- Alexander Brodie Leo Rex Armorum

Top row shows the crests of ancestors 32-63 of Andreas Marishall de
Clothoderick, father of Samuel Marshall, councellor of two Prussian
Kings and head of the ministry of Defence , Finance and Commerce.

Despite the difference to published lineage I would like to have you
have a look at it.
The secondary sources as listed in your postings to GEN-MED seem a
little bit vague
where here are more precise hints

The pedigree shows a different parentage for Alexander Cunningham 5th
Earl of Glencairn
as I have found elsewhere.

The title was given twice and so the numbering leaves the possibility
for the existence of
Alexander Comes de Glencairn oo Elizabeth dau and heir of John
Campbell de Wester-Louxton as a follower to his
brother William oo Margaret Campbell (sister of above)

The pedigree shows Joan dau of Jacobus Comes de Arran as wife of
Alexander (son)
Also there is her sister Isabell as wife of Robertus Dominus de
Semple, son of Margaretham filiam Hugonis primi comitis de Eglington

Mother of Joan and Isabell is presented as Janet dau of David Betune
(aka Beaton, Bethune)

But who was #74 - father of #37 in this pedigree?

Guilelmus Glen de Bar duxit Euphemiam filiam Archibaldi Cuningham de
Walterston,
fratris Alexandri comitis de Glencairn. Which Alexander could have
been meant?
The father of Alexander 5th +1547 or the first first Earl +1488?

Comments and hints are very welcome
