Has anyone tried connecting her to the Sir Thomas Bradshaigh/Bradshaw
of Haigh? See "Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Extinct and
Dormant Baronetcies of England" by John Burke (London, 1838), pp.
77-78; and "Remains Historical & Literary Connected with the Palatine
Counties of Lancaster and Chester" Vol. CX (1882), pp. 174-79. [both
of which are available via Google books]. If so, Sir Thomas married
an unnamed daughter of Sir Richard Sherburne of Stonyhurst and so
descendants of Sir John St. John and Alice would have additional
medieval ancestry through Sir Richard and his wife Agnes Harrington.
Thanks for your input.

I don't believe the chronology can work out that way. I have Sir John

born about 1460 who married about 1485 to Henry Clifford, the 10th
Lord Clifford, born abt 1454. So working backwards, the parents of
Alice Bradshaigh were born about 1400-1410. Thomas couldn't be dead
by 1426 (if he is the same Thomas: there are two, her father and the
father's great-uncle).

In general you'd think a wife was younger than her husband. However
it isn't always the case. We can't use that theory to discount the
possibility with firm findings.
I show John St John b abt 1426 and Alice born sometime between 1413
and 1427, so they could possibly have been exactly the same age.
Their three children that I show, I have as all being born between
1450 and 1460.
It's a little too exact to say that Alice's parents had to be born
about 1400-1410. Alice Sherburne was born sometime between 1399 and
1412 but her husband Thomas is looser sometime between 1380 and 1408
for the chronology to work.
