Holy Grail or Holy Mess?

I think most people involved with genealogy trace different things at the same time, ancestors and relatives. There is this great display of ancestor lists and there are displays of, say, descendants of a specific ancestor. It seems the two displays will never meet. Only once have I seen an attempt to have a (ancestor) list displaying all ancestors next to a list which displays all other relatives. I have played around with these displays and found a way to merge them. As an example it is easier to use someone wellknown and so I have. If this sample was to be extended it would be huge. But if applied to your own family it might be managable, and of course limits can be placed on how far to go with cousins. Is a third cousin really to be regarded a relative? In any case the system is flexible and it depends on how much you are wanting to display. If anyone would like to see the sample, let me know.

Dear Leo,

I'd certainly be interested in seeing what you've done (or
undone).

Thanks!

John
