Many thanks for this reaction. Now I am going to ask you to put in the booth
(or perhaps take it out) in the following lineage.

1Geoffrey V of Anjou
2.Henry II of England
3.William Longespee
4.William Longespee
5.Ida Longespee
6.Ela FitzWalter
7.Ida de Odingsells
8.John de Clinton, 2nd Lord Clinton
9.John, 3rd Lord Clinton
10.Margaret Clinton
11.Sir William de Montfort
12.Robert Montfort, of Bescote
13.Katherine Montfort
14.Sir William Booth
15.Edward Booth
16.William Booth
17.Edward Booth
18.Richard Booth
19.Elizabeth Booth
20.Grace Minor---------------------------she has, including this one shown,
3 lines to Geoffrey of Anjou
21.Noah Grant
22.Capt. Noah Grant
23.Capt Noah Grant
24.Jesse Root Grant
25.Ulysses S. Grant 18th President of the USA

Herbert Hoover, I agree GBR Ancestors USA Presidents page 201

If we accept as proven the line of James Buchanan as shown as unproved by
GBR page 190, I don't think there is a line to Geoffrey V of Anjou.
line 6 Janet Buchanan is the last one I have in my system. She descends from
(amongst many others) from

Robert III, King of Scots
Murdoch Stewart, 2nd Duke of Albany
Duncan. 8th Earl of Lennox
Robert the Bruce
Robert 4th Earl of Strathearn
John FitzGeoffrey, Lord of Shere
Hugh Bigod, 3rd Earl of Norfolk
Gilbert de Clare, 5th Earl of Hertford
I cannot see a line to Geoffrey of Anjou anywhere.

Please cut the line for Ulysses Grant-----if it needs cutting.

With best wishes

Bob Graham, Governor of Florida 1979-1987 is also a descendant.

Having added a few Presidents, here is a list of Presidents now known to
have a Plantagenet ancestry. If I left anyone out, please let me know.

1.George Washington
3.Thomas Jefferson
4.James Madison
6.John Quincy Adams
9.William Henry Harrison
12.Zachary Taylor
18.Ulysses S. Grant
22-24 Stephen Grover Cleveland
23.Benjamin Harrison
26. Theodore Roosevelt
27.William Howard Taft
29.Warren Harding
30.Calvin Coolidge
32.Franklin Delano Roosevelt
37.Richard Nixon
38.Gerald Ford
39.Jimmy Carter
41.George Herbert Walker Bush
43.George Walker Bush

That is 19 out of 43, fascinating.

Following your specific definition of Plantagenet King and not minding
Gary Boyd Roberts' "not proven yet" I would say your list could
include:

15. James Buchanan (unproved)
33. Herbert Hoover (proved)

And it should not include:

18. U.S. Grant

And it is predicated on the Almy descent for Nixon, Carter, and
Harding.

Your #20, Grace Minor is the same as #33 in the Grant Ahnentafel in
Ancestors of American Presidents (AAP, 1995). She is not the
immigrant person, but 1670-1753. She is the daughter of John Miner
and Elizabeth Booth, this last, the daughter of Richard Booth and
Elizabeth (poss. Hawley). Richard is the immigrant ancestor. He was
b. ca. 1607. What is known about his English origins would be in the
1952 Booth Families of Connecticut and TAG 37:77. Since Gary Boyd
Roberts does not include Grant in AAP or RD600 under the Booths, I'm
guessing there's some wishful thinking happening here. The TAG
article is given as "clue and caveat" so without having read it
myself, I'm guessing that some people have not caveat-ed properly.

Many thanks. Much appreciated. I will double check where I got the
information from, but by the look of it, cutting the line seems the correct
thing to do.
