History of Whalley p243 stipulates that Roger Lascy
granted vil Tunaley, the manor Calcoats, and land in
Snodworth to Geoffrey (The Younger) son Robert Dean of
Whalley.

This statement needs correction:

Geoffrey (The Younger) was the son of John (John being
brother to Geoffrey (The Elder)

The time frame of the grant (1200-1211)suggests
strongly that the gift was to Geoffrey (The Elder). As
Geoffrey (The Elder)married the sister or daughter of
Roger Lascy, it would make sense that the gift was
granted to Geoffrey (The Elder) rather than to his
nephew.

As the children of Geoffrey (The Younger) inherited
the property, presumably Geoffrey (The Younger)held
the property after his uncle died.

Perhaps some Lacy experts can reveal further the
history of this property which initially was granted
by King John to Roger Lascy 1200.
