Archambault and French nobility

Does anyone have information on the Archambault connection to the French royal family? I know some were members of a military family given noble rankings for service. (Jean, captain of infantry in the regiment of Vaubecourt in 1620 and
took share with the business of Bresles against the troops of prince de
Condé. In reward for over 40 years of military service he was created
baillif of the sword of Chatillon-sur-Indre and this responsibility
became like hereditary in his family. translated by babelfish from dictionary of noblesse - sorry I don't have the full reference) I am interested in how they came to the La Rochelle area in or prior to the 16th century, how they got their lands there, who did they serve as knights, where were they before turning up in what was then called Dompierre-Aunis (perhaps they were in the Limousin?). I have a lineage from Antoine, born about 1575 "probably" (??) in Dompierre-sur-Mer near La Rochelle, going forward but I want to know where he came from. I am also familiar with the Archambaud sires of Bourbon from Bourbon-L'Archambault in Auvergne. Trying to figure out where Antoine fits in with the other Archambault families.

If you are talking about this one, he was a commoner.

[2692] ARCHAMBAULT, Antoine (..)
* married before 1604
OUVRARD, Renée (..)
1) Jacques, born about 1605 Lardelière com Dompierre-sur-Mer
(Charente-Maritime : 170142), France, buried 1688-02-15 Montréal (Qc),
married about 1621 Françoise TOURAULT, marriage contract 1666-01-26 or
1666-06-06 Marie DENOT

4 baptisms of children by his first wife were found in Dompierre,
so the place of origin is confirmed. However, Jacques was a
laboureur and maybe vigneron (farmer and maybe vine grower),
according to Archange Godbout who made a research in France
(see Nos Ancetres au XVIIe siècle and RAPQ 1975, 115-116). In RAPQ,
you can see the trades of relatives. They were farmer, barrel maker,
baker, merchant, but nothing looking like a noble trade (no soldier
for example).

Archambaud or Archambault was also a given name. It is more likely
that Antoine had a ancestor with Archambault as a given name and
living 200 years before him, than being related to any noble family.
