On stirnet here
http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/briti ... 1.htm#con1

we see that James Leveson of Halling, Sheriff of London died 23.10.1545 (by which he means 23 Oct 1545)

However on the source I've been reading over the past two days we see that he
obt 7 Jul 7E6
http://books.google.com/books?id=nDgGAA ... 1#PPA15,M1
"Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society", Vol VI 1883. Shrewsbury: Adnitt and Naunton
"Donington Church", page 15

Stirnet's source for this section is "Various Web sites" i.e. garbage

This author goes on to say that his brother Nicholas "died in 1559 leaving by Dionysia daughter and heir of Thomas Baddeley..." while stirnet says that Nicholas died "13.10.1539" (which is 13 Oct 1539). It's possible that stirnet or somebody has mistakenly typed 1539 instead of 1559 that *could* make sense, but I don't see how you mistake 7Jul 7E6 for 23 Oct 1545

As a follow-up query what *is* 7 Jul 7E6 ? I thought that Edward VI died on the 6th of July so there should BE no 7 Jul 7E6 ?

Or did a monarch's counting extend until the next monarch was actually crowned in a coronation service even though that monarch was dead ? How did that inter-regnum period work?

Thanks
Will Johnson
