What is the correct historical term for .....?

Good morning
A friend has to translate, from the French, a phrase which refers to the
middle part of the Middle Ages. We can do EarlyMiddle Ages and Late Middle
Ages but the middle bit has us stumped; we just hope it's not the Middle
Middle Ages - that would be very untidy!

Sorry - You needed that in English, right? That would be the High
Middle Ages.

That is, indeed, the standard usage, in English, I believe.

This could be confusing, especially to anyone who intends to read French
medievalists - terminology is as various as the milestones that are adduced,
but many of them use "haut Moyen âge" more in a chronological sense than a
cultural one, to indicate the period from the 5th to as late as the 10th
century (more as German historians use Frühmittelalter, rather than
Hochmittelalter), and "bas Moyen âge" for the 11th to 15th centuries.

You are correct. Yet when the French refer to the terminology of
English speakers, the "High Middle Ages" is expressed as the "haut
Moyen Age." I should have thought to make some clarification; which
you now have done.

I think, just because it is regarded as the *peak* of medieval civilization,
as opposed to the centuries leading up to it, and the century or two of
decline after the Black Death
