Charles, King of Provence?

Leo makes no mention of Charles, King of Provence (d. 863), who is often
given as the third/youngest son (youngest child?) of Lothar I and Irmgard. I
know Charles had no descendents. But did he have a birth date, or any
marriages/alliances?

Thank you.

This will almost immediately be amended :-) at least in my computer. It will
show up on my website after the next update.

Emperor Lothar I does not have an indication on my website that I have
exhausted all my sources and that he is "complete"
I give only four children for him and he has eight legitimate children and
one illegitimate child.

Languages can be confusing, you call him Charles, King of Provence, but

ES Volume 1.1 Tafel 4 calls him Karl, king of Burgundy born ca.845 and died
25 January 863 at St.Pierre-les-Nonnains de Lyon.
He died aged about 17 or 18 and no marriage is recorded for him.

He is the youngest legitimate child, the illegitimate one was born in 853.

Hope this helps?
With best wishes

His birth date is not recorded. Charles was the youngest son, and died from
an epileptic seizure aged around 17 or 18, having been king of Provence and
duke in part of Burgundy (at Lyons) for 6 or 7 years. He was not married.
