Hello. Mike from the website said that most of the early COBB data comes from - the source for (see below) was "The Cobbs of Tennessee" (Cully A. Cobb, Ruralist Press, Atlanta, 1968).

My source for this was "The Cobbs of Tennessee" (Cully A. Cobb, Ruralist Press, Atlanta, 1968). Cully was the owner of Ruralist Press and a wealthy man by any standard. He hired certified professional genealogists on both sides of the Atlantic to do the research. He merely published their findings. My copy of the book is now packed away, but the sources were cited. Be reminded, this research was done before computers, which means the researchers had to actually find and examine the original documents. But I would not begin to doubt the research done for Cully's book. Before he published the work, Cully went to England and used the book as a virtual travel guide. He found everything exactly where it was claimed to be.
