Brandon family of London

Has anyone ever traced the lineage of Charles Brandon (of Tudor fame)
to the Samuel Brandon family of London who were large landholders in
London? I believe that much of the acreage was used to grow flowers
for the various flower marts. The settlement of the estate lasted for
over 60 years and is quite well-known in the English courts.

Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, had three sons to carry on the
Brandon name - by his third wife, Mary Tudor:

1. Henry Brandon, 1st Earl of Lincoln (11 Mar 1516 - 8 Mar 1534) He
died unmarried and without issue.

By his fourth wife, Catherine Willoughby:

2. Henry Brandon, 2nd Duke of Suffolk (18 Sep 1535 - 1551)
3. Charles Brandon, 3rd Duke of Suffolk (1537-1551)

Charles Brandon died of the sweating sickness one hour after the same
disease claimed his elder brother, and because of this holds the
record for the shortest tenure of a British peerage. [Wikipedia]

So it seems that Samuel Brandon was not a direct descendant of Charles
Brandon.

John

wow! thank you for the prompt and concise response. I was told that
there was a connection, but never given any proof of it. I guess just
another case of, "if the last name
fits.................................".
