I have spent a bit more time sorting out the family of Thomas
Chicheley of Wimpole Hall and his wife Elizabeth Docwra:

1. Thomas Chicheley, of Wimpole, Cambridgeshire:

witness to his step-daughter's marriage, 1526; executor to his wife's
uncle Anthony Hasilden, 1527; plaintiff in case against John Mableston
and others in relation to the "seizure by William Weston, prior of the
Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in England, of plate, part whereof
was given to the complainant by Thomas Docwra, late prior, whose niece
he married" (PRO C 1/392/56); named in his step-son-in-law's will,
1530; executor to his brother-in-law, 1531; defendant in action
brought by Lancelot Docwra of Kendal regarding the alleged "detention
of a deed relating to the manor of Aldbrough and lands there and in
Colden (in Aldbrough and Mappleton), Yorkshire", 1544-1551 (PRO C
1/1215/40)

married Elizabeth Docwra; Sir Thomas Docwra paid 300 marks for his
niece's dowry (O'Malley, The Knights Hospitaller of the English Langue
1460-1565, p 192 n 203); called "Elizabeth", daughter of James Docwra
and Catherine Haselden (Docwra pedigrees, Vis Cambs and Vis Herts);
called "Frances Docwra" (Vis Cambs, sub Chicheley), but named as
"Elizabeth" in her brother John Docwra's will, 1531; she had married
firstly Edward Turpin, son and heir of William Turpin of Knaptoft,
Leicestershire; their settlement dated 14 February 1506/7; he died
v.p. by 1524 (Coll. Top. & Gen. Vol VI, p 91); she had two daughters
by her first marriage:

[A. Margaret Turpin, born circa 1510; coheir to her paternal
grandfather, 1524, then aged 14 (Coll. Top. & Gen., op. cit.); married
at Clerkenwell, 3 November 1526 John Docwra, of Wimpole, will proved
Ely 1530; no issue]

If he d.v.p. then should he not be called son and eldest son, or son and heir in his issue ?

He couldn't be heir if he is dead.
