Piers BUTLER, styling himself 'Earl of Ormonde'.....................

In 1322, styled Sir Piers Butler pretending himself to be "Earl of
Ormonde," he was made chief governor of Ireland........................

Piers Earl of Ormonde (died 1539) brought out of Flanders and
neighbouring provinces artificers and manufacturers, whom he employed at
Kilkenny Ireland

Sir Piers, in a letter to Thomas, Earl of Ormonde....................

Giving one daughter to Piers Butler, the rival of James, earl of
Ormonde, he divided the family of his foes.

Nicholas Butler, Piers, 8th Earl of Ormond (1467--1528)

In 1541, Sir James Ware in his " Annals of Ireland," informs us that
Piers, Earl of Ormonde, and his Lady, Margaret Fitzgerald................

Piers, Earl of Ormonde, and Margaret, his wife dated November 29, 1616.

Is there a point to these snippets? Did someone in another newsgroup
somewhere ask about him? A better question would be: who is Earl of
Ormond NOW?
