Howard tombs at Framlingham, Suffolk

I was at Framlingham today, and visited both the castle and the
church. The latter contains a number of impressive sixteenth century
tombs to members of the Howard family, including:

(a) Thomas, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, and his wife, the Princess Anne

(b) Henry Howard, Earl of Suffolk, the poet, executed in 1547, and
Frances de Vere his wife

(c) the first two wives of Thomas, 4th Duke of Norfolk

(d) Henry Fitzroy, illegitimate son of Henry VIII [NB no effigy on
this tomb].

If anyone would like copies of the photographs of these tombs,
including their effigies and heraldry, such as the so-called Flodden
Helm, or of Framlingham Castle, formerly the seat of the Bigods before
it passed to the Howards, I am happy to forward them.

Regards, Michael
