Baldwin de Freville rebellion

On the web site 'People of Little Shelford' it is stated that Baldwin
de Freville was pardoned for rebellion in 1324. Can anyone provide
information as to his participation and in what rebellion?

Early counts of Castile, Garcia III?

Legg inn av Willem Nabuurs » 14 jul 2007 16:28:27

In the English version of Wikipedia, under Counts of Castile, the following
count is mentioned:

Abel Franco de Garcia III (1036), ruled Castile for less than a year; died 7
months into his reign; cause of death unkown. Little else is known about
this monarch; however immediately following the death of Garcia III his
family left Castile for what is today known as Mexico.

I cannot find this person in any other book or site on the history of
Castile, nor in Genealogics.org. Does anybody in the group know if this
person really existed, and if so, in what way he could claim the title of
count of Castile?

I'm not sure what this is doing on a thread about Baldwin de Freville,
but I suspect that it is unlikely that anyone should have left Spain
for Mexico shortly after 1036, unless they first kicked their heels
for 450 years.

And no, I'm afraid I don't know much about the Baldwin de Freville who
is the subject of the thread - he was not of the Little Shelford
branch. I cannot locate this pardon in the Patent Rolls of Edward II,
but perhaps he like many of his contemporaries was unhappy with that
King's governance.
