I don't think we have to continue the conversation about Jane being only 12 when she had a child. In Genealogies of Virginia Families from "The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography"881 (1981), Volume 4:881 appears the following, dated 20 May 1703 in Northumberland Co. VA -

"Commission of administration granted Christo. Neale and Jane his wife, on the estate of Richard, John and Hannah Rogers, children of sd. Jane."

These minor children must have been born after 20 May 1682. Daughter Jane, born in 1686 per the parish register, must have died before 1703 because she wasn't mentioned.

So, it does seem that either Richard had a previous wife who bore him John in 1676 and William in 1679 and they died young, or there was another Richard Rogers floating around that parish.

As mentioned elsewhere, after Richard Rogers died, his widow Jane remarried to Christopher Neale. The source above says that marriage took place in 1698, although I'm sorry to say I didn't take note of their documentation for that.
