I have seen hints and scraps but nothing definite on the distant ancestry
of
Wallis Warfield "The Woman who Cost a Kingdom" as Time magazine says.

Leo only has a few generations on her and Wargs although in the Obama
article lists some of her ancestors doesn't seem to touch on her royal
lineage (if
any)

But the Time article states that both sides of her family liked to traced
themselves from William the Conqueror, so there is definitely something
there to
find.

Anyone know?

Her father was supposedly a descendant of Richard Montacute (c1429
England ) who was supposedly a descendant of the third Earl of
Salisbury who was supposedly descended from William the Conqueror.

According to Burke's Extinct Peerage, 1866, Page 372, John de Montacute, 3rd

Earl of Salisbury had two sons, Thomas his heir and Richard. Thomas only had
a daughter and Richard d.s.p. ..........Can anyone confirm this? This would
remove this possibility for Wallis Warfield.

I found a source for Wallis' maternal grandmother being "Sally" Love.
Today I located, at Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington DC, the tombstone
of Wallis' mother Alice. Evidently on the tombstone is an inscription
naming her own mother as Sally Love.

What an unpleasantly hot and sticky day to be trudging through a
cemetery ... though DC may be just a toucher cooler than here.
