I am new to this group.
I would like to know if there is anyone out there who assist me in the
line of:
Sir George Bowes m Dorothy Mallory in 1561 (He thereafter married Jane
Talbot, the line to the Queen)
On his first marriage line, there was a Thomas Bowes B1680 D1751
married Elizabeth Pickering.
They had 4 children, of which one was Jane Bowes B ? D ? M? to Jacob
Grieves.Apparently he was an attorney-at-law, and there is a quote I
got out of a book by John Crowford Hodgson, titled 6 North Country
Diaries, which says" Jacob Grieve, attorney-at-law, dismissed Jane,
his wife, the youngest of two daughters of Thomas DbOwes Esq of
Bradley. He had detected her of ... "
I have also found in the Mineral Rights documents, on 5 Dec 1758 Lease
for 28 years of a wayleave over High Friar side, Tanfield, from
Collierly and Lintz Hall Colleries to Alice, Lady Windsor from Jacob
Grieve, and described as a "gent"
I would like to know if anyone has any information on Jane and Jacob
Grieve.
Many thanks
Jackie

The Bowes of Bradley line, including your Jane (Bowes) Grieves is covered in Burke's Landed Gentry
You might start there and see what it says.
