I did not find anything right off about James Clifton, but his elder brother Thomas Clifton Bart married his first wife Bridget Heneage on 22 Dec 1653 at Saint Clement Danes, Westminster
(For marriage see http://www.familysearch.org - IGI - British Isles - Batch M041606)

She was buried 11 Dec 1662 at Kirkham

With his second wife Bridget Hussey he had a daughter born Aug 1665 so presumably they were married between 1662 and 1664.

This Bridget was the daughter of Edward Hussey, Bart of Honington by his wife Elizabeth Anton dau of George Anton , esq, Recorder and MP for London and see
http://content.ancestry.com/Browse/Book ... 47-00047-1 "History of the Manor of Doddington"
Edward Hussey and Elizabeth Anton held Doddington at some time (through her), previously held by Thomas Tailor evidently her uncle, Elizabeth's mother being Jane Taylor. And Jane in addition to having the brother Thomas, had a father also Thomas Taylor, Recorder of the Bishop of London who d 1607.

I don't know of a royal ascent for Bridget Hussey. Her parents Edward Hussey and Elizabeth Anton had at least 15 children, since 15 of them are baptised at Honington, Lincs. starting with Elizabeth Hussey 28 Apr 1610 (who must have died young as another Elizabeth is bap 4 years later) and ending with Anne Hussey bap 13 Jun 1633.

One daughter Jane Hussey bap 27 Jan 1611/2 married Thomas Williamson Bart in 1642 of East Markham and among others had issue that Jane Williamson who m John White of Tuxford a descendent of Richard Cecil.

Another child, Thomas Hussey the eldest son is called "of Gonerby" but had four children baptised at Honington from 1634 to 1639. He is said to have d.v.p.

Another child Rebecca Hussey bap 16 Oct 1622 at Honington married that Robert Markham, 1st Bart of Sedgebrooke who has an ascent to Edward I through Elizabeth (Wingfield) Brandon and from this union of Rebecca and Robert Markham descends Samuel Ogle and his son Benjamin both Governors of Maryland

Bridget Hussey must be a twin with her brother Charles as he was bap 30 Oct while she was 1 Nov both at Honington and both in 1626

Her great grandfather Sir Robert Hussey was a younger son of Sir
William Hussey by Elizabeth nee Berkeley, of the Wymondham branch of
that latter family; their progenitor, Thomas Berkeley, was in turn a
younger son of Thomas, 1st Lord Berkeley by Joan de Ferrers, daughter
of William, Earl of Derby (d 1254), whose mother was a daughter of
Hugh de Kevelioc, Earl of Chester, and thus a great-great-
granddaughter of Henry I. Doubtless there are other royal ascents.
