Parish Registers "All Hallows Barking (By the Tower)

Dear John Brandon:

Would you kindly explain your response to Renia's
excellent information:

"Go Reny. Post something substantial with your bad
self"

Not only is your comment in extremely poor taste, it
also makes no sense. Renia is possibly one of this
group's finest subscribers.

Why don't you continue to harass that trouble rousing
Australian imbecile Stewart. You both have so much in
common.

Ha ha. Toooo funny. Oops, forgot I wasn't supposed to be posting.

Actually, Renia is an almost worthless hag with little to offer as far
as genealogy is concerned. But the expression "[to do something] with
your bad self" actually has a somewhat positive meaning in American
street talk or slang, expressing something akin to approbation.

Your foul mouthed alcohol induced postings are inappropriate for any
board. I was looking forward to a Brandon free rest of April, but once
again you have failed to keep your word. Sober up and don't bother to
return.

"Worthless hag" isn't really foul-mouthed. More at "tasteless" or
"tactless."

And I haven't had a drop of the stuff for a couple weeks. I normally
only drink about three or four times a year (truly don't qualify as an
alcoholic).

Whoever this is (after several years reading this forum, I don't
recognize the adderss) has bad manners, and sounds like a troll.

But John Brandon's remark *was* uncalled for.

Yes, it was a little harsh. Renia is not _precisely_ an "almost
worthless hag"; she has done look-ups for people and posted info from
CP. But you wouldn't say she has very original ideas about genealogy,
or even follows along with much interest when the going gets rough. I
remember her more for fighting with DHS and doing her best impression
of a British charwoman, bustling about uttering "cheerios" and talking
of needing a "cuppa." She reminded me a lot of Cath, our floor
cleaner in the Rootes Residences at Warwick in 1988-89.

That was harsh. Maybe I'll just go back to "charwoman" ... which
seemed to offend you the most.

Cheerio, Reny.

Proves you're a troll - deliberately out to offend.

Cheerio, Reny.
