Clergy of the Church of England database

Yes Michael, but try looking up Brian Duppa, successively Bishop of
Chichester, Salisbury and Winchester, founder of Almshouses in Richmond and
Pembridge, tutor to Charles I's children, Dean of Christ Church, Fellow of All Souls,
Prelate of the Order of the Garter, Lord High Almoner, buried in Westminster
Abbey, biography in the DNB.

The site does not in fact mention a single one of my 20+ direct ancestors
who were Anglican clergymen (Lewin. Isaacson, Whittington, Miller, Duppa,
Fountaine, Price, Ferrebee, Sadler)
I have sent a few moans to the site editors

Dear Michael

I think the problem is that the site only represents part progress in
logging the data available; for instance, it only covers some of the
Dioceses in England so far. As I understand it, the intention is to
put more online as the project progresses, so hopefully Winchester and
the rest will be there before long.

Cheers, Michael

(PS Very envious of a descent from Bishop Duppa!)

I found that they had two people with the same name confused, a bishop
and a curate.

The site lacked a clear method, just listing any data they could get
hold of without saying where they got it from.

And the dates for each person are mostly laughable.

Let;s hope they improve it as the years unroll.
