Various mediaeval arms

Legg inn av Gjest » 26 mar 2007 22:32:30

I was in Gloucester and Suffolk respectively this past weekend, and if
anyone would like copies, I have photographs of the arms of:

1. King Richard III, r 1483-1485
2. various early de Vere Earls of Oxford, from the 9th through to the
14th, including a stained glass representation of the full quarterings
of the 13th earl, and a wooden shield bearing de Vere alone.

I also have snaps of the following, which include arms:

3. the monumental brass at Lavenham to Allaine Dister, died 1534
4. the Copinger monument at Lavenham (Henry C was Rector from 1578)

Unfortunately the tomb of Edward II in Gloucester Cathedral was under
scaffolding for much-needed repairs, so I was unable to get any
pictures of it.
