Friendly hint: Why not simply send emails to yourself, and stop
subjecting hundreds to repetitive OT trolling?

Does it really bother you that much? You never said anything before
(about this thread, at least). Michael, Michael, Micheal, it seems
you have deep "issues" ...a mental health care professional could help
you work through these. Try it, you might like it.

Thanks - I did a minor in psych in my undergrad degree, and my father
is a psychiatrist. The trade term for what you are exhibiting is
"projection".

Seriously, if you wish to avoid the expense of a website (which is
fair enough), instead of typing notes to yourself in the library and
posting them here, where they are largely off-topic, we would all be
much better served if you simply typed them into an email to send
yourself on your hotmail account: much easier. Wilful posting of off-
topic material risks the risk of the list concluding that you only
come here to seek attention, and are so desparate for it that the
negative variety will do. I'm sure you don't want to come across as
that sad.

So let me get this straight. I'm off-topic by a few years (1621 as
opposed to 1600), yet you've just been discussing gateways to
Australia from the 1800s and helping me with my Middlecotts from the
1680s. You can't honestly think you're being consistent, can you?
Try "wildly inconsistent." I think it is you who are seeking
attention ... from me.

Specifically, gateways to mediaeval ancestry, which is on-topic here

to Australia from the 1800s and helping me with my Middlecotts from the
1680s.

Indeed: in terms of exploring your suggestion that they had 16th
century [i.e. on-topic] Gifford ancestry, which a little common sense
research revealed not to be the case.

You can't honestly think you're being consistent, can you?

I'm always happy to help anyone here, even you. Can we get back to
mediaeval genealogy now?

Why should it be? Name's the same?

What good are these lists?
