Dear Alan Grey:

Thank you for your excellent discourse regarding the
spelling of family names. I have well over sixty
different spellings of the Bulkley family name, and I
have no doubt there are many more.

Of course there is no need to look at the past. I have
lost track of the number of times in which the
questioner requests name - it is given pronounced
Bolkley - and the questioner will then write down
buckley. The year is 2007 but the problem remains the
same.

Changing the subject to your family name.

The second wife of Thomas Bulkley (London/Essex/Kent)
as described in his 1490 PCC Will was Agnes Grey.
Thomas held a number of positions representing the
king during his 40 year record.

The 1523 PCC Will of Agnes Bulkley (nee Grey) advises
that she died in St Marys Lambeth (South Bank)
Presumably this is the second wife!

Are you acquainted with this Agnes Grey, and have you
any idea of her parents?

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
