And if anyone is interested I was there last week and shall be again
soon, as some of my ancestors are buried in the churchyard including
(allegedly) one who died of plague whilst at sea off the African
coast. I have some photos of the Bromfield memorials - all I need to
know is the ancestry of Sarah Bromfield who married Jeremiah Dummer
Powell.

One thing that would be useful John, would be to see if the Parish
register exists for the period 1600 to 1620 in which Arthur Bromfield,
by his wife Lucy, should have 10 children. Of course there is no
guarentee that they were baptised there.

The registers for Boldre covering the period from 1596 have been
deposited with the Hampshire Record Office at Winchester; I seem to
recall there is a printed transcript, but cannot remember how thorough
this is. This may also be the 'copy' deposited at the Society of
Genealogists' Library in London according to Phillimore's Atlas &
Index of Parish Registers (although there is a chance this is just the
extracted marriages from Boyd's Index, as I cannot seem to find a
register copy in SOGCAT). I will probably be at the SoG during the
week if anyone wants a 'look up'.

The only bmd document on public view in the unusually trusting,
