Casinghurst family of Kent and Surrey (mid 16th century)

The surname CASINGHURST (or CASYNGHURST) appears to be very rare. It
crops
up a number of times in connection with some sixteenth century Kentish
local
history problems I am trying to solve.

Apart from the upper Cray Valley in Kent (and at a later date,
Edenbridge,
Kent) they seem to be connected with the Leatherhead area. I have
picked up
references to the name in the heralds Visitations of Kent. London and
Essex,
but do have not seen any Visitation of Surrey and do not know if they
are
mentioned. They seem to be of yeoman status but marry into armigerous
families.

Does anyone on this group know anything about the name CASINGHURST? I
do not
need a full pedigree, any scraps of information would be welcome.

Ian.
