Parentage of Henry Denton of Maryland

Angus J. L. Winchester, ed., _A Perambulation of Cumberland,
1687-1688_ by Thomas Denton (Boydell, 2003) [vol. 207 of "The
Publications of the Surtees Society"], p. 8, says:

"The three surviving sons of Thomas and Letitia [Vachell] Denton went
their various ways. ... Henry, after his Oxford studies, emigrated to
Maryland, where he acquired land and was made a judge: his only
child, Vachell Denton, was said to be 'very rich in plantations in
that land'.[footnote 37]"

[fn 37] = Pedigree in the hand of Thomas Denton (grandson of the
author): CRO, D/Lons/L12/4/4.

The mother, Letitia, was a daughter of Thomas Vachell, and I'm fairly
sure a daughter of Letitia (Knollys) Vachell:

Whether Vachel Denton of Maryland had descendants I'm not sure, but
he's well represented on Google Books (try both "Vachel" and
"Vachell").

Apparently, Lettice Vachell's mother was Katherine Meverell, Thomas
Denton's second wife, whom he married 27 December 1637 at Saint
Lawrence Jewry And Saint Mary Magdalene, London.

No, that can't be right either, as Lettice (Knollys) Vachell survived
her husband to remarry. Perhaps Thomas Vachell who married Katherine
Meverell was a son of Lettice Knollys and named his daughter after his
mother.
