I am new to this particular mailing list and was prompted to join as looking through the archives I could see the name of Molyneux being discussed. I didn't connect with anyone's email but thought I may gain more knowledge of whence my Molyneux came from. I am descended from a Joseph Molyneux born in Killead Co Antrim Northern Ireland abt 1757 and died in Belfast Northern Ireland in 1843. He was an alabaster manufacturer and property owner.

Information from Ordnance Survey Memoirs Volume #35 - October 1838
Parish of Killead, County Antrim. These were compiled commencing 1836 and completion in 1838. In 1831 the population of this parish amounts to 1,342 families consisting of 7,187 individuals. Several Scottish families settled here during the 17th century and about the commencement of the 18th century a Huguenot family named Molyneaux, who had probably settled in Lisburn, having come over with Mr. Crommelin, settled here.

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who is researching their Irish Molyneuxs.

Cheers,
Maureen in Australia
