Bulkley Ancestors in Normandy 1050-1250

Legg inn av paul bulkley » 05 feb 2007 18:51:23

It is suspected that the ancestors of the London and
Lancashire Bulkleys came from Normandy.

The spelling of their names possibly Bucaille,
Bukeler, Bucler, Bulceleia, and other similar forms.

Quite possibly individuals were employed directly or
indirectly by the Lacy (Lascy) Family both in Normandy
and England.

Can anyone recommend sources of information, and any
individual activity in Normandy and England.

Thank you

Paul Bulkley

The family may be Norman, but these look like someone is trying too
hard to me. Why should Bulkeley not be yet another toponymic of an
English field (-legh)?

Any relation to Vice Admiral John D. Bulkeley, U.S.N., Medal of Honor winner
and lead character in the Great Film, John Ford's _ They Were Expendable_?

Allowing for the spelling difference from your name, of course.
