I hope that some of the great minds that frequent this group can help
me unravel the mess I have made of my genealogy software program.
There is no great mind here, just copying out of a (good) reference
book.
My question is this: Who was the wife of Sir John De Dynham (b.1358 d.
25 Dec1428)? Was it Eleanor De Montague, daughter of Sir John De
Montague & Margaret De Monthermer?
CP (Complete Peerage), vol IV, pp. 374-7 has that he had 3 wives:
1. bef. 3 Feb 1379/80 Ellen. (She is now thought to be Eleanor Montagu
see archives of Tues 21 Jun 2005 under the title "CP Addition:
Eleanor (Elena) de Montagu, wife of Sir John de Dinham".)
2. bef 26 Nov 1396, Maud Matravers, widow of Piers de la Mare.
3. Philippe Lovell who then m. (2) Nicholas Broughton.
See
http://www.genealogics.org for Leo van de Pas' enormous database and see
http://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cp/dinham.shtml for CP corrigenda.
I thank you in advance for your help. One day, I hope to contribute
something to this wonderful group instead of just getting answers to
my mix-ups.

Getting hold of or access to good reference documents is the answer.
