CP XI 739 and Burke's Extinct Peerage 1866 page 494:
Henry Sinclair, Lord Sinclair, born 1527/1528, died 21 October 1601
he married (1) ca.June 1547 Janet Lindsay
sons
1.James, Master of Sinclair, married Isabella Leslie and had sons Henry, James, Patrick all Lords Sinclair
2.Patrick Sinclair of Balgreggie "his line failed in 1710"
3.Andrew
4.Magnus
he married (2) Elizabeth Forbes
sons
5.Lawrence
6.William
---------------------------------------------------
Then I found "a great-grandson" of Henry Sinclair 1527-1601:
John Sinclair Laird of Seba and Brabster, married Mary daughter of Lord Blantyre their (younger) son
William Sinclair, of Seba, married Barbara Halcro, daughter of Hugh Halcro, their son
David Sinclair went to Sweden and became Lord of Finnekumla, married and apparently has male line descendants till the present.
Here are two questions, How is John Sinclair, Laird of Seba and Brabster a greatgrandson of Henry Sinclair,
and Mary daughter of Lord Blantyre is the other question, Lords Blantyre were Stewarts (later Stuart), but which lord is her father?
Walter Stewart, 1st Lord Blantyre (died 1617), William 2nd Lord Blantyre (died 1638), Alexander 4th Lord Blantyre (died 1670 ?) Alexander 5th Lord Blantyre (died 1704)?
With many thanks

Most of the evidence below on the Sinclairs is derived from:
"Records of the Earldom of Orkney" by J Storer Clouston published 1914
printed at the University Press in Edinburgh.
1)I have no records of a Barbara Halcro marrying William Sinclair, son
of John Sinclair
and Mary Stewart. This William Sinclaiir married Jean Gordon, widow of
Patrick Irvine of Sebay.
1615-James,Bishop of Orkney :liferent of Coubister,Smoogro to
William Sinclair of Toab(lawful son to decd.John Sinclair of
Toab and Mary Stewart)=Jean Gordon.William Sinclair had
married Patrick Irvine's relict.
2)Jean appears to be alive in 1649
1649-To William Sinclair of Sebay=Jean Gordon and Robert
Sinclair,fiar of Sebay,their eldest son:feuferme granted by
Robert, now Earl of Morton,Lord Aberdour, eldest son and heir
of decd.William,Earl of Morton in Earldom of Orkney:udal
land and others
3)The only record I have of Barbara Halcro tends to suggest she was
unmarried.
21/3/1648-Barbara Halcro,sister to decd.Hugh Halcro of that
ilk against Hugh Halcro now of that ilk and his tutors
William Stewart of Maines,Patrick Smyth of Braco and William
Craigie of Gairsay(elder Hugh alive on 21/3/1628).Present
Hugh was oy and heir of previous Hugh.Had Lyquoy in
S.Ronaldsay.Hugh Halcro yger, son of Hugh Halcro elder alive
on 23/4/1629.
4)John Sinclair(=Mary Stewart) was son of Magnus Sinclair in Skaill
1580-By Magnus Sinclair in Skaill to his oldest son John
Sinclair=Mary Stewart, brother's daughter to Lord Robert
Stewart, feuar of Orkney and Shetland:Toab and Brabister.
[Comment:Clouston refers to "Old Lore Records" for this entry.
Have not been able to check derivation of record]
1584-Robert,Earl of Orkney to his cousin Mary Stewart: 5 1/2d
and 1/4d land in Brabister,3d land in Havel;2d land in
Swartabreck all in St.Andrews and Deerness escheat by
Magnus Sinclair,father of John Sinclair(his eldest son)=Mary
Stewart.
5)Magnus Sinclair in Skaill was son of John Sinclair of Toab
1579(twice) 1580-Court regarding excambion of lands in Toab
made in 1527 deemed to be valid.Henry Frissall, his
colleagues and procurator Gilbert Irvine against Magnus
Sinclair in Skaill, son and heir of decd.John Sinclair of
Toab and his procurator,David Scollay re 6d land of
Swartabreck in Toab and 3d land of Havell there.John
Sinclair exchanged his 3d land of Havell on north side of
the gate for Thomas Frissell's 3d land in Havell on south
side of gate.
6)It is not clear who John's father was.Frasers had been in 12d land
of Toab
before 1438,when it was stated that Thomas Sinclair, son of Davy
Sinclair,had obtained and
passed it on to Wat Frissel. In 1514 Sir William Sinclair of Warsetter
bought at least part
of it from a Fraser.Sir William was a grandson of William,Earl of
Orkney and brother of
Henry,Lord Sinclair. The only tentative tie-up for John was when he
acquired property
belonging to a Sinclair heiress in 1523.
1514-Court:Sir William Sinclair of Warsetter,knight,and
Nicol Fraser, son of David Fraser on one side and Alexander
Fraser,Nicol's father's brother on the other. Nicol had
offered Alexander his father's share but when he had not
bought it Nicol offered it to Sir William Sinclair.David was
the older brother.Sinclair's purchase was legal.
1523-William Paulson and Henry Paulson, sons and heirs of
decd.Magnus Paulson and Christian Sinclair (also decd.)sold
to John Sinclair of Toab their mother's part(a sister's
part)of lands in Orkney and Shetland she heired from Thom
Sinclair=Margaret Wilson.
