If you are addressing the genealogy of this achievement of arms, the
problem is not one of simple descent, it is which of the wives were
heiresses. By heiresses is meant genetic heiresses with no male (line)
heirs of the body of their father; it has nothing to do with money, as
their fathers could be paupers.

The point to remember in this quartering business is that daughters with
brothers do not bring their father's arms or quarterings into their
husbands' families.

And on the other hand a daughter can become an heiress long after she
died, if her brothers' lines all expire.

Gathering the evidence to build an achievement of arms therefore
requires a lot of genealogy in advance - and it is easy to make
mistakes.
