A potentially useful reference

I posted this on another group that might find it useful, I hope you
all do too.

In my poking about for references that concern seals I became aware of
Walter de Gray Birch's monumental "Catalogue of Seals in the Department
of Manuscripts in the British Museum" in six beefy volumes.

It turns out that Google has digitized at least 4 of the volumes.
These are available at the urls that I have posted below. They are
downloadable (and saveable) in .PDF format. Be aware that they are
about 30 megs +/- each.

Oddly, no single search will return all 4 volumes. They were found by
sort of randomly cycling thru the permutations and combinations of the
title, author's name and so on. Perhaps the last two volumes are there
somewhere. If anyone comes across them, please post the information.
Not surprisingly, I need information from Volume II - )
