False pedigree from William Montacute, King of Man?

The website for David Howe, who postulates a rather unusual claim to be
Prince of the Isle of Man, currently contains the following alleged
descent from William Montacute, Earl of Salisbury and sometime King of
the Isle of Man:

In fairness, this is apparently presented as a novelty, rather than in
any way related to the claims to titles (which seem specious).

Looking at one part of the pedigree claimed, we see that Mr Howe states
he descends from Averia, wife of William Wroth the younger. We learn
her Christian name from at least one published source (Archaeologia
Cantiana, vol 12, p 315) and that she was said to have been daughter of
"J. Mortimer" in the Visitation of Somerset, as identified by Mardi
Carter on s.g.m, 13 May 2006.

However, Mr Howe goes further, and calls her daughter of EITHER Roger
Mortimer, Earl of March (d 1398) or "Sir John Mortimer, (his) brother"
[sic].

The fly in the ointment is that Roger, Earl of March did not have a
daughter named Averia, nor it seems a brother Sir John Mortimer (see
the ODNB entry for Roger's father, Edmund, Earl of March, for
instance).

Can anyone shed any light on the origin of this apparently flawed
ascent? (Roskell et al deal only with William Wroth the elder.)
