Leo asked me for one line from me to Somerlad, so I thought I'd post it here
for comment.

Neither SP (V, 30-34) nor CP (VII, 76-77) give the lordship, or
kingship, of the Isles to Dugal, Duncan or Ewen. Instead they both say
it descended through Somerled's eldest son Reginald.

That said, CP does show this line to Ewen in VIII, 143 in the ancestry
of the lords of Lorn which became Lord Innermeath. Ewen is shown there
with two sons, Alexander and Malcolm.

Mary of /Argyll/ (d 1300/1303)

While both CP and SP give her father as Ewen of Argyll, neither gives
any more information of his ancestry and certainly do not connect him
with the above Ewen.
