I have been lurking for years and have gained some very valuable
information. Thanking all those subscribers except a few disruptive
nuts. I've never asked a question probably out of fear but now I have
gathered my courage.
Are the above names synonomous?
I ask because in my Sherwood (Greenwich, Ct.) line, the name Hugford
crops up. This always seemed odd to me because the only Hugfords found
in New England was the single family of
Dr.Thomas Huggeford of Stamford. Both of his sons and his son in law
were Tories.
There are three wives in this Sherwood line that have not been proved.
I am trying to link one of these wives to this Hugford family.
I've read through the visitations of Warwick, Northampton but come away
without a diffinitive answer as to if these families are all from the
same root.
TIA. Patty
