Ledgardis of Vermandois

I have noticed that the death of Ledgardis, daughter of Count Heribert II of
Vermandois, wife in turn to Duke Guillaume I of Normandy and Count Thibaud I
of Blois, is frequently placed "after 977".

This is presumably spreading from Christian Settipani's 1993 study of
Carolingian genealogy, but the only source given there is p. 124 of
Siegfried Rösch's 1977 book that does not provide a reference. Moreover, on
p. 150 of the same book the date is specified instead as on a 27 May after 9
February 978.

While closer to the facts this second effort at precision overlooked by
Settipani is still inaccurate and short of the mark.

Ledgardis was still living on 16 August 979, as shown by her charter of that
date ("Ego in Dei nomine Ledgardis..."), attested by her son Count Odo I.

She died on a 14 November according to the 11th-century necrology of
Chartres cathedral ("XVIII kal. dec. Obiit.Letgardis, comitissa").
